Unlike Duskmourn's other Commander decks, Endless Punishment comes with seven other potential commanders, but none of them have the sort of synergy with the rest of the deck as Valgavoth

On top of this, a 3 cost 3/3 Evasive character (because in Amethyst, you'll almost always have cards in hand to make Flurry of Delight work) who has the potential to quest for four lore is quite the powerhouse card

It's not an afterthought

However, decks such as Turboland, Psychatog, and Rising Waters have found ways to turn the returning two lands disadvantage into a pure advantage, making Gush a card which often gives you four-for-one instead of two-for-one

While this has little baring in an unpowered cube it still seems wrong to have the Search lower than this
