Whenever a Symbiotic creature dies, it creates a number of 1/1 green Insect creature tokens equal to its power and toughness (which are always the same)

Then, a choice: characters played on previous turns can be tapped (exerted, in Lorcana -ese) to either fight (challenge) another character or go on a quest to score points equal to the number of lore symbols on that characters card

Both the new sets and the new mechanics appear to have had an effect on the most valuable cards for this year

Characters are further broken down into three varieties of glimmers

The Amber/Ruby deck includes one action card, Rescue Rangers Away! Meanwhile, the Emerald/Sapphire deck features two, Gadget Hackwrench Perceptive Mouse and Gadget Hackwrench Brilliant Bosun. The latter, which we will see again shortly, is a Floodborn glimmer, so it requires the former Gadget glimmer (or any other one named Gadget) to be played first before it can be used
