The ability to convoke it means you just need to tap a few creatures to cast it for free, and with enough black Wizards from Final Fantasy lying around, you're likely going to do just that

I could have left them in the decklist just for the sake of the argument, but I do intend to play with this deck (and upgrade it further) so I decided to keep things above board

Bear in mind that this is also a card used here and there in Amulet Titan lists, as well as being in around 4000 EDH decks listed on EDHREC, and as such cant be dismissed as just being a card for an unpopular Modern deck
