It also keeps the gas flowing, plays well with Evolving Wilds (as does Tireless Tracker), and powers up Sylvan Advocate (and sometimes Nissa, Vastwood Seer) a turn ahead of schedule
The deathtouch mode is probably worse on average than Beholders menace mode, but Im not putting much thought into either one on a 6-mana creature
