Jin is trickier to play than Griselbrand, since you only get your cards when you end the turn -- so you've gotta have FoW in hand, wait for your opponent to tap out, or run Jin into Swords to Plowshares and hope your opponent doesn't have it
Beyond that, its also a nice inclusion in Modern Domain decks
You can also use it politically to save an opponent from attacks, if the mood strikes you
Scion's effect only costs two mana, so turning it into a powerful creature out of nowhere can be a game-ending effect
Sylvan Advocate was typically played in Standard because it was often a two-mana 4/5 dork that had vigilance
It's effective in formats that don't have Reanimate or Animate Dead, and can serve as a tertiary backup for those in something like Vintage Cube
