Beyond that, the mechanic is pretty much just a twist on a +1/+1 counter mechanic, which means the Black Rose is a nice option to lead a counters deck, with the reanimation ability adding that Grixis flavor to shenanigans you would normally associate with the color green

I know that a lot of people see it as filler, and well, it was, but that doesn't change that it was a lot of fun
