Last year I was asked by Wizards of the Coast to do some Magic the Gathering card art for their upcoming animal set Bloomburrow ( I played a lot of MtG back in the mid/late 90's, so it was an honor and thrill to become a part of the fraternity of MtG illustrators

This can make a deck grindy and allow a player to outlast the opponent, and in MTG in particular, reanimator or graveyard strategies can dominate any format, such as Dredge decks in Modern or Muldtrotha decks in EDH/Commander
This means the back half can be hit by Counterspell, and is subject to other casting payment taxes and effects
