On the flip slide, a promo card that comes exclusively with a movie ticket to a Pokmon movie might be worth a lot more, as you would have actually had to buy the movie ticket at the time to see it, and since movies usually arent in theatres that long, the chance will pass by quickly

The effect depends on the item, but examples include searching your deck for a specific card - as with the Pok Ball item - or healing damage from your Pokmon, as with a potion
