it also skips the opponent's turn, which can royally mess with their strategies

Despite not gaining life, Withered Wretch actually does a better job of this since it's more flexible at spot removal, only requiring one colorless mana to activate, while Tymaret requires 1B each time

As such its easier casting cost and instant speed do not do that much in its favour
