Unfortunately the card itself is a pretty boring vanilla
Im also kind of shocked by how much more affordable Gateway is than the other recent Lorcana standalone release Illumineers Quest: Deep Trouble (which fetches more than twice as much at retail)
Its a shoe-in for cube, its great for Canlander, itll be a staple in Commander, and in Modern it gives you a whole host of options for red-based spellslinger decks
I found myself just staring at so many of the illustration cards when I pulled them as they were just stunning to see on the screen, seemingly designed to pop on a phone screen rather than when printed on a card
Greninja ( Genetic Apex ) and Jolteon ex ( Mega Rising ) can both damage the opponent's Bench with their ability: Greninja has the Ability Water Shuriken, where once during the player's turn they can deal 20 damage to one of the opponent's Pokmon, including Benched Pokmon, and Jolteon ex has Electromagnetic Wall, which deals 20 damage to an opposing Pokmon - including Benched Pokmon - when the opponent attaches Energy from the Energy Zone to that Pokmon
The B&R article states: "Lorwyn Eclipsed giving Living End a shot in the arm has largely also seemed to be positively received by the community, which has us interested in showing the archetype a bit of love." It was quite surprising to see Violent Outburst become legal again, so soon after it was placed on the MTG banlist in March 2024
