You see this one at competitive tables, and more casual tables with bigger budgets too
It's similar with Galvanic Discharge, where you can scale your damage, but there isn't much you can do with excess energy if you use less than the three energy you make
Another synergistic option is using one of the Life Swap pieces from Combo #1
I really enjoyed playing this card on Arena in decks that included cards like Awaken the Honored Dead, Fangkeeper's Familiar, and Rakshasa's Bargain, as ways to fuel the graveyard and get value off of it
While that spell allowed for explosive, high-value artifact turns, Nanogene conversion instead foregrounds creature combos and powerful, game-ending swings
While I understand that the card was probably a bad idea for Standard and put a lot of players off, I will miss being able to have two of these decks jam huge turns against each other
