Recurring a massive creature sounds amazing
While paying 5 mana to get a 3/2 body with lifelink at flash speed while also removing a key threat isnt always bad, the ability to evoke this creature is what really makes it shine
This card debuted in 2008s Morningtide expansion, and while it does technically ding you for life loss based on the creature card thats revealed from the top of your library, if your deck is chock-full of Treefolk cards with far higher toughness than power, youll almost always be netting lifegain as opposed to losing life
Some of Sonic Superstars Emerald Powers do have some Magic: The Gathering counterparts, such as the Blue Emeralds Avatar power working as MTG s Clone which uses blue mana and the Vision power of the Purple Emerald revealing hidden items much like the Peek card
You could double-trigger Braids, Conjurer Adept or one of the five Bringers (l like Bringer of the Blue Dawn , Red Dawn, and White Dawn in particular for this)
Reaction cards that are played in response to certain triggers can introduce a lot of complication into the nuts and bolts of the rules work, but for a casual game, it'll be fine to include them
