Just like tracking their graveyard size and playing 5D future library size Chess isn't what people play Magic for, starting at UUUB open and trying to route through Spellstutter Sprite, Cryptic Command, Mistbind Clique, Scion of Oona, and later Agony Warp just broke people
Page 3 of the rulebook tells each player exactly what cards they should have in that first starting hand
But for its first half, its a seven-mana way to make everyone get rid of their hand (and graveyard, if someones shenanigans are bothering you) without replacement
Also, did I mention Inquisitor Captain is a Cleric
Its very hard for me to just experience a card unto itself
The combat damage downside here is significant, but manageable
