It is complicated in a lot of formats but cube having so many lands with differing clauses rather than just the few best or the few currently legal ones it makes for a more varied and complex experience

This lets you bring in any artifact you might need for any given gamestate, and in some cases fully counter your opponent's deck and shut it down.
