Speaking of which, what changes would I make to the budget build of the deck now that we've played some games

Beyond the auto-includes Sol Ring and Arcane Signet, the backbone of budget ramp is the full cycle of two-mana Signets (like Golgari Signet) and Talismans (like Talisman of Hierarchy)

Boartusk Liege gives +1/+1 each to mono-green and mono-red creatures, and +2/+2 to RG+ creatures

Effects that modify the creature's power or toughness (such as the effect of Giant Growth) will apply no matter when they started to take effect

As far as 2/2 Human Knights go, Jean-Claude Vondam is a good one, and can get pretty big, pretty quickly in the right decks
