If you add the 9/9 Sauron and all of its other abilities, you actually get a lot of bang for your eight-mana buck

Add in a cheap, effective attack and a useful Ability and youve got yourself an affordable winner

Extirpate and Surgical Extraction are awesome with eldrazi/affinity decks, if I can exile Urza's Mine / Urza's Tower or something like Mycosynth Lattice my opponent can't play its game
