When Universes Beyond first showed up, it was controversial with a subsection of MTG fans, as many players didn't like to use cards with characters from outside the MTG universe

As for Universes Within, there are great decks from Tarkir Dragonstorm, Modern Horizons 3, Bloomburrow, and Januarys Lorwyn Eclipsed - nice
