While it would be a terrible reprint, +2 Mace was a common suggestion for what should have been the bonus card
(Then planeswalk away from this phenomenon.) Through the Dark Portal Phenomenon When you encounter Through the Dark Portal, flip this card over and put it on the planar deck, then shuffle the planar deck and reveal the top card of the planar deck and planeswalk to it
Either they commit excess resources to bypass your defenses, or they just look the other way and attack other players
Although of course, if you include subtypes that are now considered evergreen, then technically the first set to do this was Alpha , which introduced the subtypes Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest, and Aura (although the actual "Basic Land - Plains" and "Enchantment - Aura" templating wouldn't come until much later)
This fiexes your mana well and can threaten to be a 3/3 when it attacks, allowing it to get through and/or trade reasonably well
