The soils are heavy loam mixed with red clay. The heaviness of the clay slows down ripening so we can let the fruit hang on the vine longer than the other Shiraz blocks. This gives the wine an enjoyable density that marries with the silky tannins and rich fruit profile of blackcurrants and cherries that the loam provides. This wine used to see 100%
