枯れた質素な佇まい。

古木彫文煎茶盆、在銘です。

明治期（1868–1912年）に作られた藁の編み物で、二つ折りに仕立てた後、同じ藁紐で緩やかに結んであります。内部には何かが詰め込まれていた痕跡が見られ、かつては江戸時代に用いられた叺（かます）のような物入れ、あるいは敷物として機能していた可能性も考えられます。

朝鮮やインドネシアにも、共通する特徴をもった神獣・獅子像があるそうです。
