The palate is not quite so innocent – apple and vanilla sweetness matched by sweet blackcurrant and liquorice
Cask No. 53.287 Special Bundle The unreduced nose was curiouslyCask No. 53. 287 Ye olde medisin Islay This wee maritime beauty opens with notes of tidal fresh rock pools and all the usual suspects of tar, ash, soot and lashings of medicine alongside a curious and compelling fragrance of blackberry jam. Water brings forth lively kippers, burlap sack, pear soap, a slightly tarry bitterness and some pretty serious peat. To taste there are stewed apples, sugary tea, intense black coffee, chillies and white pepper.
