He very quickly finished 20 pieces producing a great variety from easy to difficult, fast to slow and from joyful to sad and high flutes to low flutes. They all shared a style he called African. The musical material only consists of the seven tones of the major scale but the rhythm and metrics are quite complex at the same time.
