The box is formed of mahogany with a burr walnut veneer front and brass case corners

Large Italian Regency Style Giltwood Pier Mirror Book Sets There is shelf wear toA stunning and substantial Italian giltwood pier mirror of good proportions in the Regency taste, circa mid 20th century. The mirror is surmounted by a breakfront cornice above a raised central foliate decoration, the whole above two columns framing the glass plate. The carving is exceptional throughout and the original gilding remains. Some areas of gilding are more worn than others, most notably to the lower left corner (please see photographs).
