(1890s) The condition of the opaline is excellent although there are a couple of flea bites to the inner rim of the lid (from obvious use). As the item was cold painted (hand painted over the top of the glass) there is evident paint loss. Personally I think it has lasted exceptionally well for a piece of glass over 100 years
