The base of the casing is stamped "AMLOT 37mm GUN MODEL OF 1916 LOT 1283 W. M. FG. CO MK1 A1." The primer has been fired, with a central hole visible in the base. The casing and projectile show oxidation, surface scratching, and patina consistent with age. Spots of verdigris are present on the copper rotating band.
