I also like Geistflame Reservoir better in Izzet Spellslinger decks in Commander since it'll draw you cards if you don't have the engine going, or to cast more spells if you do, but this is better at the kitchen table generally as well as in 20 life formats like Five Color, Standard
The bigger spells need to help you at different stages in the game
