The small glass inkwell is housed in a brass box with two hinged lids which hold the inkwell in place. Each door has a spring loaded button which keeps it shut, and releases it when pressed. The inner cap has a very simple etched circle design, while the outside is very simple. The inkwell is in good condition with patina and signs of use, as well as some minor chipping around the rim of the glass inkwell
