The thing is haste buys you a lot more than just time, it is the inability to react accordingly and the lack of information and the removal of sorcery speed things as issues that make haste to valuable in combination with a lot of things you might cheat in
I hate the restriction here and dont think it would have killed them to just make a land that taps for 2 colorless if its your SEVENTH land
