2018 Fontaine-Gagnard Volnay 1er Cru ‘Clos Des Chenes’ 750Ml Bottle Northern Rhone ] In tastingPicked on August 29, earlier than the domaines other reds, the 2018 Volnay Clos des Chnes 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet of red currant, raspberry and briar, all well defined and focused. The palate is balanced with a fine saline core. Quite robust and structured for a Volnay, but with satisfying precision and grip toward the finish.
