A box of Commander Legends is on the pricey side right now, but if you arent sure what you want out of Commander, you cant really do better than drafting a box of this with some friends and then building a deck out of whatever youve opened that inspires you

The last time we had a ban in Commander was the relatively large banning in September 2024 when Dockside Extortionist, Jeweled Lotus, Mana Crypt, and Nadu, Winged Wisdom were all banned, and which ultimately lead to the dissolution of the Commander Rules Committee and Commander Advisory Group, and control of the format moving entirely over to Wizards

The Emperor, Hell Tyrant (Yawgmoth, Thran Physician) Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is a Modern staple (there's a whole deck named after him), so the Emperor art would be a nice addition to die-hard fans of the deck

For upgrades, Id cut down on some of those and add more utility items

The best example of this is a story I always tell about a Zur's Weirding deck I used for gunslinging
