Uncapping the mana available to players at the start of the game makes it more reasonable to allow potent attacks on mana, like Wasteland, Daze and Armageddon, adding a whole new strategic element to the game
Not only that, but they look and smell like Magic cards
Additionally, oftentimes you'll find that by the time you could get to the mana needed to play this card, your opponent will have likely played out their whole hand, making the core play behind the card fairly worthless

If one of those creatures can't attack its owner that turn due to a spell or ability (such as Chronomantic Escape), you may have it attack another player, attack a planeswalker an opponent controls, attack a battle an opponent protects, or not attack at all
