Aphes has favorable key wording for a removal trap since it bounces (and thus doesn't trigger GY effects / destruction effects), is scalable so it can remove multiple cards at once, and has impressive range as it can go after anything on the field, even your own cards
One of the annoying parts about the deck was that the only spells that allowed me to give my opponent stuff forced me to take stuff back in exchange
